THE Forrester Park men’s section Sunday competition was a medal and with fine conditions scores were generally good.

Nick Proctor won the gold division with nett 66 from Peter Andrews on nett 67.

Nigel Woolley won the silver division with nett 70 and Phil Prior took second with nett 72.

The bronze division was won by Mike Manning with nett 65 and Chris Morris was second with nett 73.

The men’s winter league was finally concluded when Chris Collins and Bryan Bowring beat Clive Walby and David Eley in the final.

This week the ladies played for the Granny Middleton competition which also incorporated the Jean Bartlett trophy for players with 36 handicaps. The winner of the Granny Middleton trophy was Susan Wilson with 35 points, with Jean Frost taking the Jean Bartlett trophy with 25 points.

The ladies’ team had their first match in the Harris bowl competition.

They overcame both the opposition, Top Medal, and the weather, which was very wet and windy, to win by four games to one.

The veterans played their May medal which produced an exceptional score in the gold division which was won by Alan Wilson with nett 64, a scratch score of 76.

Jeff Atkinson took second place with nett 73, beating Denis Morley on countback.

The silver division was won by Simon Harding with nett 69 from David Chapman, who scored nett 70.

Barry Trickett won the bronze division with nett 68 with Mike Donovan in second place one shot behind.
