MALDON and Tiptree chairman Ed Garty has thanked departing manager Alan Kimble for all his work with the club.

Kimble stepped down as manager of the Jammers on Saturday afternoon.

Kimble, who took over as manager with the Jammers sitting bottom of the Ryman League division one north table at the end of September last year, led the club to 19th position.

Garty said: “Alan has decided to step down as manager of Maldon and Tiptree FC and I fully respect and understand his reasons for doing so.

“I would like to take this opportunity to place on record my thanks to him, Anwar Uddin and Richard Bates for all their hard work in stabilising the club and giving us a sound footing to work from moving forward.

“I wish Alan all the best for the future.”

Kimble said: “I have had lengthy conversations with Ed and made the decision to leave the position as manager of Maldon and Tiptree.

“The club is moving in a new direction and I felt that now would be the right time for me to look at opportunities elsewhere.

“Our objective when we came in was to stabilise the club and retain our position in the Ryman League.

“We managed to reach that target under very difficult circumstances and now leave the club in a much better situation than when we arrived.”
