THERE were a number of superb performances for Tiptree Road Runners at the Essex 20-mile championship at Langham.

Paul Mingay ran two hours, 12 minutes and 18 seconds to set a personal best and new club M55 record. He took a silver medal in the M55 category and his time ranks first in the UK for his age group.

James Haskey-Jones was also in record-breaking form, running 2h 15m 10s to set a new club M45 mark.

Jonathan Finch made his club debut at the distance with a strong run of 2h 27m 44s.

Tracy Harrington took a county silver medal, running 2h 36m 30s just outside her season’s best.

Alex Beardall also made his club debut at the distance 2h 51m 49s and Graeme Moon ran 2h 56m 47s.

Stacy Hember improved her personal best to 3h 18m 43s, Kim Broughton ran 3h 21m 31s and Zoe Gould made her debut at the distance in 3h 22m 15s.

Louise Hawkins ran a personal best of 3h 22m 56s, improving her previous time by a remarkable 20 minutes.

Tiptree claimed three first places at the Thaxted half-marathon trail.

Craig Dawson was the overall winner in 1h 51m 10s, with Kate Finch and Tracy Harrington taking joint first in the ladies’ event with a run of 2h 11m 22s.

Mark Lawes finished in the same time, followed by Paul Dellar 2h 12m 55s and Anthony Knight 2h 26m 4s.

Zoe Gould, Lyndsay Salmon and Peter Bouldstridge all ran 2h 41m 45s and Wendy Smalley finished in 3h 7m 43s.

The Mercury 10 cross-country race takes in the hilly, muddy tracks of Epping Forest.

Craig Dawson ran 1h 16m 42s and Simon Morgan 1h 25m 47s.

The North London half-marathon starts at Saracens’ rugby ground and takes competitors through Wembley Stadium.

Anthony Knight finished in 2h 3m with Tina Clarke running 2h 8m.

At the Maldon Prom Parkrun, Andrew Conway finished in 20m 24s with Peter Bouldstridge running a season’s best of 24m 9s.

Martin Pratley continued his progress with a third personal best in a row of 25m 41s.

Anthony Knight ran 25m 44s, David Stokes 26m 51s and Jo Roblin set a season’s best of 27m 53s.

Faye Wright made her club debut in 30m 4s and Rose Haskey-Jones ran a season’s best of 30m 38s.

There were season’s bests at the Colchester parkrun for Abigail Morgan 24m 31s and Dawn Shilling 27m 44s.

Kate Finch ran 29m 22s on family pace-making duty.

Malcolm Bailey finished the Great Notley Parkrun in 24m 22s and Jeff Fairfull improved his season’s best to 30m 24s at the Brentwood Parkrun.

n Tom Rehal dominated the Under-15 Boys category of the 53-12 cross country league this year.

Rehal, who trains with Blackwater Junior Tri Club, based in Maldon, ran for Tiptree Road Runners. He led from the first race, and went from strength to strength in his first season of cross-country running.

He is now looking forward to a successful triathlon season.
