BURNHAM Ramblers boss Bertie Brayley has praised two club heroes.

Matt Belcher and Bradley Nobbs were honoured ahead of Saturday’s match against Thurrock at Leslie Field.

A special presentation marked keeper Belcher reaching 100 appearances for Ramblers while midfielder Nobbs doubled that figure, racking up 200 appearances for the club.

Unfortunately, it was the visitors who left with all three points after securing a 3-1 Ryman League division one north victory.

Former Rambler L’heureux Menga gave Thurrock the lead before Charlie Burns equalised on half-time.

Thurrock retook the lead through Menga, following a mistake from Belcher, and sealed the match with a strike from Thompson.

Brayley said: “It is fantastic to have the experience of Matt and Bradley in the team.

“I am pleased for them that they received this honour from the club.

“They are very humble, they don’t miss training and they are there for every game.”

Putting Saturday’s game behind him, Brayley is now preparing his side for the visit of Brightlingsea Regent on Saturday.

When the sides met earlier in the season they battled to a 1-1 draw but Brayley believes a lot has changed since that match.

He said: “I am not worried about Brightlingsea and what they are going to do.

“I am focusing on my side and what we can bring on Saturday.

“I have a full squad to choose from again and that is a big boost for us as we had a number missing last weekend. I have my captain, Stuart Judd, coming back in and he makes a massive difference in the middle of the pitch.

“Also, striker Andrea Mantovani is back in the squad after being away in Italy.”

And Brayley is buoyed by his side’s recent performances.
