Sunday saw the last round of Burnham on Crouch Men’s Winter League A divisions.
In League A1, Tony Wilkin dared to stay away at the Mixed Thorpeness weekend and leave it to his partner James Marchant as they were six points ahead.
This, it turned out, left them in second place overall.
On the day the father and son Davies partnership had a good day, scoring 40 points to grab a maximum of 12 points so that they finished top of the league with 60.
Roy Carter and Andi Stokes scored 37 to take ten, but they needed the 12 to overtake Marchant and Wilkin so missed out on the quarter-finals.
In League A2, Mickey Leonard and Paul Lindus continued their domination by scoring 38 for another 12, leaving them top of the league with 70.
Brothers Matt and Rob Hawksworth and Paul Hegarty and Ricky Blake were tied in second place so that the pair who scored the best would go through.
Hegarty and Blake scored 35 to gain eight, which gave them 51 overall but the Hawksworths scored 37, for ten, to give them a crucial 53 points for a place in the quarter-finals.
The winners and runners up of the four divisions will play on Sunday.
Results: Veterans February medal: 1 Barry Pressley 66 nett, 2 Martin Johnson 74 nett ocb.
The club is hosting a pro-am on March 3.
