AS the weather weather continues to improve golfing conditions at Five Lakes allowed the the penultimate round of this year’s Winter League to be played on the Links course.
The match was an 18-hole stableford and Phil Robson and Graham Doherty continued their march to lead the overall standings with another 41 points.
Third place on the same same score but with a better back six holes, a birdie on the 18th, went to John Mayle and Ian Cottee.
Second place went to Richard Hardy-King and Chris Hamblion with 42.
However, this round’s winners were Mark Ponder and Mike Owen with 43 points.
Birdie balls were won by Ponder on the 16th.
