HEYBRIDGE Swifts boss Cliff Akurang has added to his squad.
He has signed former West Ham youth team player Nicky Barrett.
The 22-year-old midfielder has also played for Eton Manor, Cheshunt, Grays Athletic and Brentwood Town before joining the Scraley Road outfit.
In a club statement, Akurang said: “He’s got a fantastic CV and a good history behind him and he will be making himself known to the boys.
“He’s someone quite special, the boys have had a glimpse of him in training and he’s a very very good footballer, good passer, good creativity, good tackler, bit of a mix and just waiting for his opportunity at the moment and as soon as a position opens, he'll be straight in there.”
Barrett was part of the Hammers’ Under-18s during the 2009/10 season, after joining the club at the age of 14 in 2006.
