THE Benfleet 15 celebrated its 25th anniversary with the usual mix of tough hills and thick clinging mud.

James Haskey-Jones was first home for Tiptree Road Runners in 33rd place with a run of one hour, 51 minutes and 21 seconds.

He was followed by Craig Dawson in 35th in 1h 51m 52s for 35th and Paul Dellar in 2h 2m 23s.

There were personal bests for Kate Finch, 2h 11m 23s, Valerie Rees, 2h 33m 9s, and Peter Bouldstridge, 2h 36m 27s.

Jonathan Finch (2h 6m 29s) and Gary Perryman (2h 6m 48s) made their club debuts at the distance with Tracy Harrington running 2h 10m 48s.

Paul Gregory also made his 15-mile debut in 2h 11m 40s with Mark Lawes running 2h 17m 22s, Peter Fuller 2h 33m 9s, Graeme Moon 2h 36m 59s and Anthony Knight 2h 44m 19s.

A group of Tiptree ladies all made their debut at the distance and ran a sensible controlled race in the tough conditions.

Their times were Stacy Hember 3h 2m 12s, Zoe Gould 3h 4m 20s, Louise Hawkins 3h 4m 20s, Kim Broughton 3h 8m 16s and Gemma Schelus 3h 8m 16s.

Ian Linton finished in 3h 15m 45s.

David Stokes improved his personal best and set a new club M65 record with a run of 26m 24s at the Maldon Prom Parkrun.

Malcolm Bailey was first home for the club in 23m 28s, with Jo Roblin finishing in 28m 35s, Lynne Baines 29m 43s and Dawn Shilling 29m 51s.

In other Parkruns, Paul Mingay continued his return from injury with a time of 19m 57s at Colchester. Simon Morgan ran 20m 28s, Rob Hadgraft 24m 52s and Kate Finch 31m 28s.

Anthony Knight finished the Chelmsford Parkrun in 24m 50s, Tim Ford ran the Netley Abbey Parkrun in 25m 38s, and at Greenwich, Andrew Goodson and Emma Sherwood finished in 29m 41s.
