BERTIE Brayley wants his Burnham Ramblers players to be brighter and more courageous.
The Ramblers suffered two back-to-back Ryman League division one north home defeats with a 2-0 loss against Dereham Town on Saturday and an exciting 4-3 reverse on Tuesday night against Waltham Abbey.
Ramblers were 3-0 down in the second half and looked as if they might get something out of the game against Abbey but just ran out of time.
Now Brayley must regroup his troops for Saturday’s match against visiting mid-table Cheshunt.
He said: “There were positives from Tuesday night’s game.
“Jack Long made his debut at centre-half and had an excellent game.
“He was probably the best player on the pitch.
“Also I had an emergency keeper.
“I know he let four in but he couldn’t do much about the penalties and the others were good goals.
“He made some cracking saves and I know I can rely on him.”
“We have to be brighter on the pitch.
“It’s no good throwing in to a player’s head if he is marked by three players.
“We need more movement and we need the players to be more courageous.
“We are letting teams settle and we have to work at closing people down and work as a unit to pressure the opposition and win the ball back.
“That’s what we will be working on in Thursday’s training before the Cheshunt game.”
