ALI Carter is out of snooker's Dafabet Masters.
The Colchester-born potter, who grew up in Tiptree, bowed out at the quarter-final stage after losing 6-1 to Neil Robertson.
The Australian raced out of the traps and, thanks to breaks of 128 and 57, quickly established a 2-0 lead in tonight's showdown at Alexandra Palace.
Carter pulled one back, thanks to a knock of 63, but his opponent restored the two-frame cushion with a clearance of 98.
Robertson then won the first frame after the mid-session interval before breaks of 127 of 84 steered him over the finishing line and into the semi-finals against Ronnie O'Sullivan.
