BURNHAM Ramblers boss Bertie Brayley is delighted to have George Borg in his back room team.

Former Braintree Town and Enfield Town boss George Borg has joined the coaching staff at Ramblers and brings a wealth of non-league knowledge to the club.

Brayley said: “I am delighted that George has joined us.

“I played under him for many years and he has a wealth of experience to bring to the club.

“It is a very good thing for the club and he is like a dad to me.

“We are looking stronger and George can only help us with that.

“It is great for Thursday training sessions and George can work on our defence and patterns of play.”

A last-gasp own goal denied Burnham victory on Saturday against Barkingside when they were held to a 3-Brayley said: “It was very frustrating to have not taken the win.

“At 3-1 we were cruising but to be fair to Barkingside they didn’t give up and kept coming at us.

“But I thought we were comfortable at 3-2.

“Then to lose that goal at the death was a real blow.

“But we are getting stronger.

“We had a few missing on Saturday but we still had a good shape to us.

“This weekend I only have one suspension and a full squad to choose from.”

Looking ahead to Saturday’s league game at fifth-placed Wroxham, Brayley added: “Wroxham are a good side. I went to watch them play Great Wakering and they have good attackers.

“It’s going to be a tough game but they all are.

“But if you look over our last four games we have won two, lost one and drawn on. Hopefully we can keep that form and confidence going.”
