ALAN Kimble celebrated picking up his first Ryman League division one north win as the Jammers’ boss at the weekend.

Maldon and Tiptree secured a 2-1 win against visiting Aveley on Saturday and then backed that up with a 1-1 draw at Thurrock on Tuesday night.

Two penalties was the story at Thurrock with Jack Stevenson’s first half-strike being cancelled out by Mark Onyemah’s 73rd minute spot-kick.

It followed up their 6-0 win against Coggeshall Town in the Tolleshunt D’Arcy Cup the Tuesday before.

Speaking about Tuesday night’s draw Kimble said: “I was disappointed we didn’t get the three points.

“But I was pleased with the team performance and some great individual performances.

“Cliff Akurang had another good game, the two centre-halves were immense.

“Jack Stevenson and Natahan Koranteng are starting to do the ugly stuff well.

“I think this was the best team performance we have had since I have been in charge.

“Now hopefully we can keep this unbeaten run going and take things on this Saturday.”

A goal in each half by Cliff Akurang sealed the victory and three points against Aveley.

Kimble said: “It was good to get the first three points on the board.

“It backed up last Tuesday’s win against Tolleshunt D’Arcy and it’s about getting that winning mentality.

“It was good to take it on from that win.

“It was a good all round effort from the side with some good individual performances."
