BURNHAM Ramblers boss Bertie Brayley believes his side are a work in progress.

Ramblers lost out 2-1 at AFC Sudbury on Tuesday night, following on quickly from their 2-1 Ryman One North defeat at Cray Wanderers on Sunday.

But despite the loss, which sees Ramblers bottom of the table, Brayley was pleased with his side’s performance against Sudbury.

He said: “I feel good about the game, not the result but the performance.

“The way we played at times was brilliant.

“We didn’t deserve to come away with nothing.

“Their committee said after the game that we had improved from last year and that is a big plus for me. Things are coming along.

“We looked comfortable on the ball.

“We just need to work a bit on the final third now, everything won’t fall into place all at once.

“We are a work in progress.

“But I think we are two or three players short of what will be a good team.

“I have only been in the job for just over a month, this is my pre-season.

“When it clicks it will click and I am working very hard to stabilise the club.

“I had hoped to have a new midfielder at the club – the seven-day approach had gone in, he had agreed to come, everthing was sorted then he pulled out.

“I now have to find a replacement and I feel let down.

“I am not making up excuses I am just looking to bring stability to the club.”
