HEYBRIDGE Swifts boss Keith Wilson is disappointed his side are without a competitive fixture this weekend.
Swifts secured a 2-1 win at Waltham Abbey on Tuesday night in Ryman League division one north.
But had fallen to a 2-1 defeat at Aveley on Saturday after going down to ten men.
However, this weekend they are without a fixture with most division rivals still involved in the FA Cup.
Wilson said: “It was nice to get the win, it was a dogged performance.
“It’s a shame we haven’t got a game this weekend.
“We would have wanted to go on from Tuesday night’s win and try and build on it.
“But that’s our own fault for not doing the job in our cup match.
“We will have a good training session on Thursday and go hard at and prepare for Sudbury next Tuesday, as long as they don’t draw and have to replay.
“That will be the annoying thing, if we have to wait ten days between games.”
Wilson added: “We will now have a match against our under-21s on Saturday and make it a club day.
“Kick-off will be 1.30pm and it will be free entry, we are going to make it a family day.”
The regular match-day raffle and golden goal competitions will also be running while the clubhouse and bar will be open as normal.
