HEYBRIDGE Swifts manager Keith Wilson has demanded a positive response from his players in the wake of their “shocking” FA Cup exit.
The Scraley Road boss pulled no punches in his assessment of Sunday’s 2-1 preliminary round defeat at FC Romania.
He labelled his players’ performance as “unacceptable” and warned that they might find themselves being dragged down the table unless results improve.
Swifts have taken just six points from their opening six Ryman League division one north matches – a tally they will hope to improve at Aveley on Saturday, kick-off 12.45pm.
“Sunday’s performance wasn’t acceptable,” said an angry Wilson.
“The players let themselves and the club down.
“After going behind, we didn’t have enough fight or desire to get back in the game.
“I’m not used to seeing that and it’s something we need to put right very quickly.”
