MALDON and Tiptree boss Terry Spillane was left frustrated after his side were held to a draw at Park Drive.

Visiting Ware snatched a point after the Jammers had gone ahead twice in their Ryman League division one north game on Tuesday night.

The game follows their 2-1 win at Great Wakering Rovers and now Maldon have two games in quick succession, Romford on Saturday and the derby match with Burnham Ramblers on bank holiday Monday.

Spillane, talking about the Ware game, said: “It was frustrating.

“We played well to go 1-0 up, then it was a lack of concentration that let them back in the game.

“A big kick up field and the player, in an offside position, picked it up and went through to score.

“We got back in front, and worked hard to do so, and another lapse of concentration saw the ball go to the player at the edge of the box and he hit a wonder strike and it went in.

“But we have two games coming up where we can pick up points and there were more positives than negatives from the game.”

“We have a busy weekend ahead but we have got a good squad this season and we will need it.

“There is a lot of football being played and we will use that squad to our advantage over the next couple of weeks. We have a couple of injuries in Lee Kersey and Brad Hunter but hopefully they will be ready for Saturday’s match.

“I am looking forward to the Burnham derby game, I know Bertie (Burnham manager Brayley) well and a couple of their players.

“But I don’t know that much about the team at the moment.

“I am concentrating on Romford on Saturday then I will turn my attention to Burnham.”
