DANNY Buchan took his third win in four races, extending his lead at the top of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000cc class to 29 points following Sunday’s meeting at Knockhill in Scotland.

Riding the Tsingtao Kawasaki ZX10R he rode faultlessly to take his third Pirelli National Superstock 1000 win of the season in devastating style, taking the chequered flag 9.9 seconds clear of Jason O’Halloran and the chasing pack.

Buchan was fastest in qualifying to take pole position for Sunday’s race.

He got off the line in first place with last season’s champion Hudson Kennaugh snapping at his tailpipes and the two protagonists steadily pulled away from the rest of the field.

On the third lap, Buchan set a new class lap record for the Superstock 1,000 class with a blistering lap of 49.195sec at the tight and twisty 1.26-mile circuit. Kennaugh was not giving up, but the pace of the leader proved too much for the South African and on lap six with the gap ever widening Hudson crashed out at the hairpin.

Whatever pressure there may have been on the rider out in front now evaporated and with his advantage increasing by almost a second a lap Buchan took the win in grand style.

Race Result: 1 Danny Buchan (Tsingtao Racing Kawasaki), 2 Lee Jackson (BMW) +9.932sec, 3 David Johnson (Kawasaki) +10.319sec.

Fastest Lap (New class lap record): Danny Buchan 92.71mph.

Points: Danny Buchan 95, Jason O'Halloran 66, Lee Jackson 50.
