LEE Boylan is joining the coaching staff at Heybridge Swifts.

The 35-year-old striker will also be registered as a player.

Swifts boss Jody Brown has made an addition to his management team after confirming the departure of Paul Golby.

Although Golby will continue to help out in terms of scouting, other commitments mean he cannot continue in his role as assistant boss.

Boylan is well-known for his goal-scoring exploits in non-league football.

After starting his career on the books at West Ham, he went on to play for the likes of Kingstonian, Stevenage, Chelmsford City, Canvey Island, Thurrock, AFC Sudbury and Maldon and Tiptree.

It was during his time at the latter that he first worked with Brown.

“Lee’s pedigree as a non-league goal-scorer has been almost untouchable over the years,” said the Heybridge boss.

“His professional upbringing at West Ham makes him a great role model for our younger players.”
