MALDON and Tiptree boss Terry Spillane believes the pressure is off his side and it’s showing in their performances.
The Jammers are now undefeated in five Ryman League division one north games and won four out of their last five.
Their latest success was a 2-0 victory at Waltham Forest on Wednesday night.
Second half goals from Bradley Hunter and Oliie Berquez sealed the win.
Maldon boss Spillane believes that their chances of making the play-offs have gone and his players have been given a new freedom now that pressure has been removed.
Maldon are due to travel to struggling Erith and Belvedere on Saturday and Spillane is expecting a tough game.
However, he is going to make changes to his side with an eye to next season.
He said: “Erith may be struggling but they are capable of throwing up the odd surprising result.
“They change their team every week and it is difficult to know who you are going to face.
“We played them at home last year, we won, but it was a tough game.
“This time five weeks ago I would have said this is a must- win game.
“But we are out of the running now and the pressure is off.
“It is now time to enjoy the rest of the season and hopefully we can reap the benefits from it.”
