Heybridge Swifts had to come from behind to seal victory against Romford.

Swifts secured a 3-1 victory at Scraley Road on Wednesday night in their Ryman League division one north encounter.

Heybridge had the early chances in the match with Ben Newson having a shot charged down.

Dave Wareham then had a shot blocked, before Michael Toner went close with a header and Chris Bryan had a shot held by the keeper.

Bryan then had a free-kick that the visiting keeper did well to gather.

But it was Romford that took the lead on 44 minutes when James Ismail broke the deadlock.

After the break, Swifts quickly equalised when Dumebi GB-Dumaka on 47 minutes.

Abs Seymour then had a shot that just went over for Romford and then another shot that was well cleared.

But on 63 minutes Swifts took the lead when GB-Dumaka added his and Swifts second of the night.

Toner then came to Swifts rescue when he cleared off the line to deny Romford an equaliser.

But on 85 minutes, Jamie Guy added Swifts third to give them some breathing space.

Romford couldn’t find a way back and Swifts secure the three points
