BURNHAM Ramblers boss Keith Wilson felt his side were unlucky in their defeat at the hands of AFC Sudbury.

Burnham Ramblers lost out 4-1 in their Ryman League division one north encounter at Leslie Field on Tuesday night.

The home side were looking to add a win to their account against Sudbury after their three convincing victories against the Ramblers this season – including a 6-1 hammering in the League Cup.

However, on the night, despite putting a good performance it wasn’t to be Ramblers’ night.

Wilson said: “I don’t think they were 4-1 better than us.

“However, not a lot went our way. We didn’t get the rub of the green and luck wasn’t with us. On another night we could have won the game.

“Sometimes you get games like that and sometimes you run up against teams where it doesn’t go for you.

“Unfortunately for us, that seems to be Sudbury.

“Their keeper made a couple of decent saves and we’ve played worse than that this season and won.

“We started really well then there was a poor decision by the referee which should have been a foul but led to a free-kick for Sudbury and they broke and scored.

“Then for the second goal we switched off and you can’t do that against teams like Sudbury.

“We lost 4-1 but gave a better performance than we have in our last three games. We will have to dust ourselves off and go again on Saturday.”
