Early points haul is pleasing for Wilson

BURNHAM Ramblers boss Keith Wilson believes his newly-promoted side are already showing their Ryman League credentials.
The Leslie Field team have made an encouraging start to life in division one north, winning two of their opening five games and giving a fright to two other sides with top-six potential.
Ramblers were 4-3 up at neighbours Maldon and Tiptree on Saturday – only for the game to be abandoned at half-time because of the torrential rain.
And they followed it up by winning 1-0 at home to Waltham Forest on Bank Holiday Monday.
“We’ve proved we can be competitive in this division and, in terms of points, we’re more or less on track with where I’d hoped we’d be,” said Wilson.
“Overall, I’ve been very happy.
“We’ve won a couple of matches and could and should have got something from the games against Erith and Belvedere and Tilbury.
“On top of that, we’ve also really pushed two sides that should finish in the top six – Maldon and Needham Market.
“There’s lots to be positive about and we’re enjoying it so far. We’re on schedule.”
