Maldon and Tiptree are held to a draw by Cheshunt

LEADERS Maldon and Tiptree were held to a draw by visiting Romford. The visitors took a Ryman League division one north 1-1 result away from Park Drive as Maldon’s lead at the top was cut to six points as second-place Grays Athletic beat Potters Bar Town 4-1. Romford took the lead through Paul Clayton in the ninth minute.. But just before half-time, Maldon got a breakthrough when Ollie Berquez equalised. The home side went in search of the winner in the second half but couldn’t find the vital touch.
