Heybridge Swifts' good form continues

HEYBRIDGE Swifts continued their good run of form securing a win against visiting AFC Sudbury.

Their 4-2 Ryman League division one north victory saw Swifts rise to fifth place.

The home side took the lead after two minutes when Russell Malton was fouled in the penalty box.

Michael Cheek stepped up and drilled the ball home from the penalty spot.

Ten minutes later, Luke Callander made it 2-0.

On 29 minutes, Callander got his second and Swifts' third.

Swifts eventually got their fourth goal on 71 minutes when Malton's powerful shot from the edge of the box found the back of the net.

The visitors reduced the deficit on 77 minutes when Danny Charge headed home.

With five minutes left, Heybridge gave away a penalty for handball and Lee Boylan made no mistake from the spot.

But Sudbury were unable to make any further in-roads and Heybridge held on for the win.
