Heroes past and present were remembered as the Maldon district marked Armed Forces Week.

War veterans, relatives of fallen soldiers, councillors, dignitaries and residents gathered at the Maldon District Council offices, off Princes Road, Maldon, to see the flag raised to mark the week, which started on Monday and ends with Armed Forces Day on Saturday.

Displays, vehicles and representatives, from the Combined Military Services Museum and Stow Maries Aerodrome helped add to the occasion.
