Fishing boat run aground off Shoebury coast

A FISHING boat had to be rescued after going adrift off the Shoebury coast on Monday morning (May 14).

Thames Coastguard received reports the 25ft vessel had broken free from it’s moorings at about 10.20am.

The coastguard crew from Southend were sent out to locate the boat, which they found had run aground just off East Beach.

Once the owner was identified, he was contacted and vessel, which has been made secure by the coastguard, will be moved at a later date.
