COUNCILLORS are challenging residents to spend just 10 minutes a month clearing the weeds from the boundary of their properties.

Councillors Paul Varker , Nikki Drogman and Colin MacLean took the 10 minute challenge to clear a stretch of pathway at Deepdale in Thundersley.

Mr Varker said: “In a perfect scenario every main, side road and pathway would be clear of weeds and debris but the Great British sun, rain, sun climate is perfect for the overgrowth to take hold and make our area untidy.

“We are asking residents to spend just 10 minutes a month clearing the area immediately outside the garden or fence line. If everyone undertook the challenge just think how great our neighbourhoods would look.”

“We appreciate that some people will be physically unable to take part but it would be great to see communities come together and enhance the appearance of our borough.”
