A THIRD man has been charged in connection with a kidnapping in Maldon.

Tony Price, 26, of High Street, Chelmsford, was arrested on suspicion of robbery, kidnapping, causing grievous bodily harm and assaulting police officer on Tuesday.

The charges related to an alleged kidnapping which took place in Shakespeare Drive, Maldon, on Saturday June 16.

He has since been charged with kidnapping, criminal damage, two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, robbery and assault with the intent of resisting arrest. 

Price was remanded in custody and will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today.

Kyle Wiggan, 24, of Maldon, was also arrested in connection with the incident in June and was charged with kidnap, assault and robbery.

Wiggan is set to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court today for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

Ethan Sweeney, 25, of Tennyson Road, Chelmsford, was also arrested in connection with the Maldon incident on Tuesday.

He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court yesterday, July 18, charged with robbery, kidnapping and causing grievous bodily harm. 

He has been remanded in custody and will next appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Wednesday August 15.
