AN EGYPTIAN football fan from Grays have been saved from heartbreak after winning his dream car and £20,000 on his birthday.

Mohamad Behrey, 32 was left lost for words when he discovered he had won a Range Rover Urban Velar D300, worth £80,000, whilst visiting family in Cairo.

Mohamad was ecstatic while his fellow countrymen were distraught as their national team lost 3-0 to Russia in the World Cup, forcing their exit from the competition.

He took delivery of the gift from Christian, who represents the car gifting group. BOTB.

He said: "I am honestly speechless, I really can’t believe I’ve won.

"I think I can win the prize for saying ‘oh my god’ the most when Christian surprised me.

“I don’t think I could have asked for a much better birthday present."

BOTB was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has handed over the keys to more than £22m worth of supercars.

Mohamad added: “I kept asking Christian if it was April fools, I never thought this would happen to me.

“I was with both of my daughters and my wife when Christian video called me, they were screaming in disbelief in the background.

"I think they share my love for the car already too.”

Speaking about the moment Mohamad took delivery of his brand new car, Christian said: “Surprising people with their dream car every week really is the best job, but to be able to give someone a birthday gift like no other really is an incredible feeling.

“And at least we could cushion the blow of Mohamad’s home team losing against Russia last night!”
