Thurrock Council’s street cleansing and grounds maintenance teams are starting work to tidy up Thurrock’s section of the A13.

This work will be carried out from Green Acres up to the Five Bells Interchange and will start on Monday February 26 and continue until Thursday March 1.

This will take place overnight to reduce disruption to traffic. The council is working closely with Kier, the contractors who have been appointed to widen the A13.

The council will cut the vegetation back on verges and remove all litter where it is safe to do so.

Council staff will then pick up litter, strim and use weed killer on the central reservation from the Five Bells interchange up to Baker Street.

The next planned A13 clean is scheduled to take place in May.

A council spokesman said: “The council is committed to keeping the borough clean and this works will focus on clearing Thurrock’s section of the A13.”
