A LAW firm, which opened an office in Rayleigh earlier this year, is helping to showcase the town’s retailers by sponsoring the annual Best Shopfront competition over the Christmas holiday period.

The competition, sponsored by Palmers Solicitors, is inviting entries from the firm’s neighbours in Rayleigh High Street and the wider town centre to compete for the title.

The annual competition is tied in with the switch-on of Rayleigh’s Christmas lights on Thursday, November 30 between 4pm and 6.30pm.

Both charity and commercial shops will be eligible to take part in the competition which will be judged in December.

Adam Davis, a partner at Palmers, said: “Rayleigh High Street and the town centre as a whole is central to the town’s community spirit and its sense of place.

“That is why we chose the High Street as the location for our new office and why we are keen to promote High Street businesses which are so important.

“I’d encourage all retailers in Rayleigh High Street and the wider town centre to enter and help the town get into the festive spirit this Christmas.”
