A Basildon dad has helped raise more than £200 for a children’s charity.

Ricky Wastell, who works for Ion, part of the Careys Group, encouraged his workmates at Lots Road, Chelsea Waterfront Development, to donate towards Ronnie’s Way.

The charity organises events for children with special needs, including discos and trips out.

Mr Wastell, whose five-year-old son Max is autistic, is hoping to meet with Billericay Town Football Club’s owner Glenn Tamplin to receive a signed shirt at their home game next month.

The next event organised by Ronnie’s Way is a special screening of Olaf’s Adventure and Frozen. It is specifically for children for special needs.

It will take place on November 25 from 9.30am at Cineworld Basildon.
