A man has been charged with assault and dangerous driving after an incident in Benfleet.
Police are appealing for further witnesses to the incident which took place in Kents Hill Road North.
A black Ford Fusion Titanium and a black Ford Escort Finesse left the Manor Trading Estate in Church Road, Benfleet, at about 3.45pm on Thursday, August 3 and turned onto Kents Hill Road North.
The cars crashed with each other at traffic lights outside Lacey’s Newsagents.
Since the incident, Sam Jarman-Hall, 37, a plasterer, of Whittington Road, Hutton, was charged with criminal damage, assault, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving while disqualified and failing to stop after a road accident.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Basildon Crown Court on September 11.
Police ask that anyone who saw the vehicles before or after the incident to contact DC Jason Goodey on 101.
