PRIMARY school children donate toys to support the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
John Hann, deputy headteacher of Phoenix Primary School, in Leinster Road, Laindon, organised a toy drive - where toys were donated and sold on to other families. A total of £153 was raised. Mr Hann said: “We ran this charity event because the headteacher’s partner’s brother died from motor neurone disease a few months ago.”
Mr Hann said the school will be running more charity drives in the future to support the association. The next one will be in September.
Mr Hann said: “Our next target is to raise £1,000 . There will be cake sales and toy drives.” To make a donation, call Mr Hann on 01268 543664.
