Man yelled obscenities

A MAN was given a community order after he admitted harassing a woman.

Levi Lane, 24, of Eversely Road, Benfleet, made daily phone calls to the victim, visited her place of work and shouted obscenities at her in public between August and April this year.

He admitted the offence at Basildon Magistrates’ Court and was told to complete 200 hours of unpaid work. A restraining order was also made against him. Lane was ordered to pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Man carried out assault

A MAN was handed a conditional discharge after he admitted assaulting another man.

Philip Tredwell, 53, of The Avenue, Benfleet, assaulted the man on November 25.

Basildon Magistrates’ Court gave him a six month conditional discharge. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Drug driver banned

A WOMAN was fined and disqualified after she admitted drug driving.

Samantha Morris, 30, of Hawkesbury Road, Canvey, was stopped on February 21 and found to be unfit to drive through drugs.

She admitted the offence at Basildon Magistrates’ Court and was disqualified for 12 months and told to pay an £80 fine.

Unpaid work after damage

A MAN was handed a community order after he admitted damaging a car.

Southend Magistrates’ Court heard Elliss Cross, 26, of Concord Road, Canvey, damaged a BMW 1 Series on June 4.

He admitted criminal damage and was told to complete 100 hours of unpaid work and pay £95 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
