A TOTAL of 72 shoppers benefited from a free blood pressure test carried out by the Rotary Club of Billericay.
Volunteer nurses and club members set up the free tests in Waitrose, Billericay High Street.
Of those tested , eight needed to urgently visit their doctors within a week and 19 were encouraged to see their GP within a month.
A spokesman for the club said: “We processed many members of the public, giving advice on the state of their health, and recommending where appropriate a visit to their doctor or for immediate medical attention.
“Waitrose duty manager Steve King took time out to have his blood pressure tested and to encourage staff members to have a test.”
