A woman was left with injuries to her skin and mouth after an attacker sprayed an unknown fluid in her face before stealing her handbag.
Police are investigating reports of the robbery which took place in Sherwood Way, Southend at 12pm on Monday, March 6.
A 60-year-old woman was approached by a man wearing a balaclava who sprayed her with an unknown fluid.
The man then stole the victim’s handbag before driving away in a blue BMW.
The victim was left with minor injuries on her skin and mouth. She has now fully recovered.
