FASHION students at South Essex College recently visited the Telegraph to experience what goes on in the fashion journalism sector.
The students, who study on the BA (Hons) Fashion Communication course at University Centre Southend, the college’s higher education branch, met the paper’s Fashion Editor, Lisa Armstrong.
Lisa educated the students on how the fashion department operates and how they produce the Sunday Telegraph’s fashion magazine; Stella.
Jenny Carrington, Course Leader, said: “I worked in the media industry for over 20 years so was able to call on some of my contacts to secure this exciting visit.”
The students embarked on many interesting tours of the building, including the cartoon and library departments.
They also participated in Q&A sessions with staff.
Jenny also said: “the students were able to get an invaluable insight into how fashion communication and marketing works within a media business.”
