A RELIGIOUS school held a fundraising sponsored bounce.

All 630 children at St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School in Grays bounced for charity.

The school raised am impressive £ 2842.00.

The school council voted at the beginning of term to hold a sponsored bounce for two charities which they decided needed their support.

Having heard about the conditions for refugee children and their families at Calais, they voted that half of whatever money was raised would be sent to Care4Calais.

The remaining half would be sent to one of the children’s favourite charities – CAFOD.

The children’s task was to persuade their parents, grandparents, neighbours and anyone who knew them to donate money for how many times they could bounce on the castles in one minute. There was no problem with the children bouncing, as they were so excited on the day they were already full of ‘natural’ bounce and there was no stopping them!
