YOUNGSTERS who are regular visitors to Southend Hospital have 50 reasons to be cheerful thanks to the Towngate Theatre, Basildon. The theatre has kindly donated 50 theatre tickets for this year’s pantomime, Sleeping Beauty, to the Paediatric Outpatients department at Southend Hospital.

Paediatric Outpatients Deputy Manager, Deborah Warren, said: “The tickets will be distributed to some of our young patients and their families that have spent a lot of time in the unit throughout the year. It will be a wonderful experience for them, the event really will brighten up their lives.”

Elise Fleetwood, events and corporate relations manager at Southend Hospital Charity, added: “Our well deserving patients will also get the chance to meet Santa! We are so grateful to the Towngate Theatre for this very generous donation, a wonderful Christmas treat.”

The performance takes place at 5pm on Friday 2 December. On this date, every seat in the entire Towngate Theatre has been dedicated to local children’s charities.
