A COMMUNITY life-saving group is looking for new volunteers to join them.
Canvey Island First Responders are in need of new helpers to continue the work that they do on the island.
Mick Allwood, 56, co-ordinator of the Canvey Island First Responders, said the service is more important now than it has ever been. He added: “For many life-threatening incidents such as cardiac arrest we can be the first people on the scene to give life-saving care.
“We work closely with the ambulance service and they have thanked us in the past for our help and work. We are looking for people who care about their community and just want to give something back to the community and the people in the community.”
The group are holding an event on September 17 at the Knightswick Shopping Centre, Canvey.
