A TEACHER hopes her dream of being a popstar will become a reality when she takes centre stage on a popular television talent show.

Viewers will watch Jade Tibbs, 28, of Hawkesbury Road, Canvey, audition on BBC's The Voice this weekend in a final attempt to break into the music industry.

The mum-of-one previously had a taste of fame when she was a member in two girls bands, Fenix and Vida, who supported N-Dubz, Ed Sheeran and the Pussycat Dolls.

She said: “Ever since having a taste of what it is like to be part of a pop group and it not quite working out I decided yes: it’s really what I want.

“I’ve wanted to be a performer ever since I was about six years old – I used to make my family watch me perform.

“This is my last chance to finally and properly make it.”

Despite being a singing teacher and previously working as a professional performer, Jade admits she still gets nervous.

Her audition took place in September, but will be screened on BBC One from 7.15pm tomorrow.

Jade, who gave birth daughter Jasmine just three weeks before the performance, will be seen belting out her version of DJ Fresh favourite gravity.

She said: "Of course you get nervous, it’s scary being in front of those judges.

“But the way I cope is to imagine myself performing, then when I get on stage the singer in me just takes over.

She said: “Being a mum is wonderful and I really hope to show Jasmine the footage one day.”

Jade attended Canvey’s Karizma Dance School as a teenager and later went to the Masters Performing Arts College, in Rayleigh.

She added: “I have had such an incredible support network around me – people who are really supportive of me pursuing a career as a solo singer.”
