COUNCILLORS unanimously voted to reject plans for two new houses in a historic Southend street.

Spurdown had applied to build two three-storey homes at Clifton Court, in Royal Terrace.

However, councillors on the authority’s development control committee all voted to reject the plans, mainly due to parking concerns.

Tory Jonathan Garston, who represents Milton ward, labelled the proposals “unbelievable.”
