A PEDESTRIAN died after being hit by a train between Rochford and Hockley this morning.
Police are treating the death as non-suspicious after the person was struck shortly before 6am by the 5.40am Greater Anglia from Southend Victoria to London Liverpool Street close to Hockley station.
Services resumed on the line between Rochford and Hockley at 8.30am following delays for more than an hour as trains between London Liverpool Street and Southend Victoria were cancelled, delayed or suspended between Wickford and Southend Victoria.
However, a spokesman for the train operator warned commuters to expect delays initially because the suspension had meant trains were not where they should be.
