A WORKER at a funeral directors in South Ockendon threatened with a knife during a robbery.
A man entered Co-operative Funeral Service in Derwent Parade at 3.15pm on July 9, pulled a knife from his jacket and demanded that a female member of staff open a safe.
When she refused, the man fled empty handed on foot.
The suspect is described as white, 5ft 9in and in his early 20s. He was skinny and wearing a black, white and grey striped scarf across his face.
Officers are now investigating and appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward by calling Grays CID on 101. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
