THIEVES stole £35,000 worth of equipment from a Basildon business.

Police are appealing for information after an industrial premises in Paycocke Road, Basildon, was broken into and more than £35,000 worth of specialist engraving equipment stolen.

The break in happened sometime between 4.30pm on Wednesday, December 17 and 9.40am on Saturday, December 20 at a property owned by Gravograph on the Olympic Business Centre site.

Four engraving machines were stolen after the thieves forced their way in through a door.

Investigating Officer Pc Sam Kyle said: "The machines themselves would only be useful to a business and are of no real scrap value. I would like to speak to anyone who may have any information about the burglary or who may have been offered the items for sale.”
