Braintree district: Police response falls after cutbacks Braintree district: Police response falls after cutbacks

Police call-outs to emergency incidents have suffered dramatically since huge cutbacks were made.

Between March 1, when response teams were moved from Braintree, and the end of April, officers have failed to meet emergency response targets 29 times.

This is almost double the figure for the two months before the changes.

The reorganisation means the response teams are instead based at hubs.

The nearest to Braintree are Dunmow and Stanway.

The hubs send out the police car that is closest to an incident.

Well what a surprise that is....not. There wasn't enough before the cut backs so how it wasn't going to affect future policing I cannot understand!!
