POLICE have released pictures of people they want to speak to after bus shelters were trashed following an England World Cup victory.

Fans spilled out onto Head Street, Colchester, after each of the Three Lion's fixtures during the tournament and celebrations were mostly good natured.

But there was disorder after the 2-0 quarter-final victory over Sweden on Saturday, July 7.

Supporters were seen clambering onto the shelters in Head Street and two were destroyed as people dived off them onto the waiting crowds below.

Now officers have identified people they want so speak to in connection with the vandalism.

Police believe the repair bill will likely come to more than £1,000.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "The damage will cost an estimated four figure sum to repair and we want to speak to the men pictured in connection with the incidents.

"There were a large number of people in Head Street at the time following England’s World Cup match against Sweden and we are appealing for witnesses or anyone who recognises the men to contact PC Anna Collins in the Colchester Community Policing Team on 101, quoting reference 42/97142/18.
