COLCHESTER'S new cinema will officially open in July.
Curzon will open its doors on Friday, July 6.
Housed on two floors, in Queen Street, there will be three screens with 300 seats.
A spokesman said: "We will be showing the best of quality mainstream including family films, independent gems and events.
"Two cafe bars and one roof terrace make it the ideal place to socialise and enjoy a conversation, a snack and a tipple before or after a film making Curzon Colchester the perfect destination for all to enjoy."
All screens will be wheelchair accessible and include hearing assist facilities.
Special events and one-off screenings will include live broadcast opera, theatre and music as well as live Q&A events about film.
Curzon is not completely new to the town, having collaborated with Firstsite for the last two years.
