A PHARMACY in Clacton has been given the go-ahead to install security shutters after being targeted by thieves and vandals.
Boots has been given the green light to install two new electric roller shutters on the entrance doors of its Pier Avenue shop.
Bosses hope the shutters will be a deterrent to vandals and intruders.
A report said: “Numerous internal security facilities have been installed however criminal damage has continued.
“In our experience electrically operated shutters to the entrance doors are the only security solution that provide a visual deterrent to vandals and intruders, as well as providing a robust physical barrier.”
The blueprints for the shutters have been approved by Tendring Council planners.
